Azerbaijan-Bulgaria trade turnover grew by 57% last year

July 1, Fineko/abc.az. To date, 69 documents on cooperation between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have been signed, and 7 more documents are under consideration.

ABC.AZ reports that Azerbaijani Agriculture Minister, co-chairman of the Azerbaijani-Bulgarian Intergovernmental Commission Majnun Mammadov at the 6th meeting of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation in Baku.

In 2023, Azerbaijan-Bulgaria trade turnover grew by 57% compared with the previous year and in 2024 there is a trend towards continued growth.

"There is a possibility of further expansion of trade relations. We are also determined to expand cooperation in the field of agriculture," the minister stressed.

He invited Bulgarian companies to participate in the reconstruction of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.

The minister also believes that development of the international East-West trans-Caspian corridor can bring commercial benefits to Bulgarian companies.

"Azerbaijan is an important regional hub, and Bulgaria can benefit from Azerbaijan's transport capabilities," Mammadov said.

He mentioned that energy cooperation between the countries and trade are among the priorities for growth of cooperation.

"We see great opportunities for tourism, especially since the Baku-Sofia flight has been open since June. There is also potential for development of humanitarian ties and educational programs," the minister added.
