July 11, Fineko/abc.az. As of June 1, 2024, the number of employees in the country's economy reached 1,749,400 people, including 893,100 people in the public sector of the economy and 856,300 people in the non-governmental sector.

ABC.AZ informs with reference to the State Statistics Committee that 18.9% of employees are employed in education, 18.6% in trade, vehicle repair, 12.8% in industry, 8.4% in healthcare and social services to the population, 6.8% in construction, 6.4% in public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% in transport and warehousing, 3.8% - professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.3% - agriculture, forestry and fisheries, 2.2% - engaged in financial and insurance activities and 14.5% - in other sectors of the economy.

Over Jan-May 2024, the average monthly nominal salary of employees in the country's economy grew by 9.4% versus the 2023 same term up to 1003.3 manats.
