July 15, Fineko/abc.az. In the 1st half of 2024, the share of “green energy” in electricity production in Azerbaijan increased to 15%.

ABC.AZ informs that Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov wrote about this on his account on X.

In 6 months of 2024, generation of electricity in Azerbaijan totaled 13.557 billion kWh.  the country exported 444 million kWh and imported 96.4 million kWh.

The minister noted that for Jan-Jun 2024, thermal power plants generated 11.525 billion kWh of electricity, from renewable energy sources, including hydroelectric power plants - 2.032 billion kWh (a rise of 950.7 million kWh).
