July 16, Fineko/abc.az. As of July 1, 2024, the economically active population of Azerbaijan totaled 5,280,600 people, including 4,996,500 employed persons.

ABC.AZ reports that according to the State Statistical Committee, the number of unemployed in the country increased by 284.1%.

At the beginning of July, the number of unemployed was 286.6 million people. The unemployment rate fell to 5.38% in July from 5.44% in June. At that, the unemployment rate as a whole seems to have stabilized at 5.4%.

GDP production in Azerbaijan in the first 6 months of 2024 reached 59.52 billion manats (4.3% more than last year). This figure was 4.2% a month ago.

As of June 1, 2024, the number of employees reached 1,749,400 people, including 893,100 people in the public sector of the economy, and 856,300 in the non-governmental sector.
