July 23, Fineko/abc.az. The number of payment cards in circulation through the systems of banks and Azerpocht LLC increased by 224,000 cards by the end of June compared with last month and amounted to 18.91 million cards.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan that the figure grew by 20.3% versus June 2023.

The growth of payment cards was 21.5% on debit cards and 12.6% on credit cards. The growth of payment cards had positive impact on non-cash payments. Thus, during  June, the non-cash transactions within the country increased 1.7-fold against June 2023.

In June 2024, the volume of non-cash payments within the country with use of cards reached 6.103 million manats. E-commerce accounts for 5.122 million manats of non-cash payments.
