July 29, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jun 2024, potatoes were harvested on an area of 18,634.5 hectares out of 46,752.1 hectares of acreage.

ABC.AZ reports that according to State Statistics Committee’s report, the harvesting area amounted to 2,524.1 hectares, or 11.9% less than last year.

The harvest area was 39.9% of the sown area. Over Jan-Jun 2023, potatoes were harvested from an area of 21,158.6 hectares.

For the past 6 months of 2024, 350,085.7 tons of potatoes were harvested from cultivated areas (73,235.1 tons or 17% less than for Jan-Jun 2023 - 431,320.8 tons of potatoes).

And the weight of potatoes per hectare reached 192.1 quintals (11.7 quintals, or 5.7% less versus Jan-Jun 2023).  Over Jan-Jun 2023, the yield was 203.9 quintals per hectare).
