August 1, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2024, over 6.53 bcm of gas have been transported to Europe via the Trans-Adriatic Gas Pipeline (TAP).

ABC.AZ reports that Luca Schieppati, Managing Director of TAP AG, said about this in an interview for Report.

“Since the beginning of 2024, we’ve transported more than 6.53 bcm of gas, including 460 million cu m to Bulgaria, 600 million cu m to Greece and 5.42 bcm to Italy,” Schiepatti said.

He added that since the commissioning of the pipeline, TAP has transported more than 37.53 bcm of gas, including 2.29 bcm delivered to Bulgaria, 3.63 bcm to Greece and 31.33 bcm to Italy.

“Since mid-February 2022, TAP has been operating with almost full capacity, and significant short-term orders complement long-term commitments,” Schiepatti noted.

The supply of Azerbaijani gas to consumers in Italy, Greece and Bulgaria via TAP began on December 31, 2020. According to the agreements between Azerbaijan and the EU, Azerbaijani gas supplies will reach at least 20 bcm by 2027.
