August 5, Fineko/abc.az. Georgia imported 56,400 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel from Azerbaijan in the first half of this year.
ABC.AZ reports that according to the Georgian Petroleum Product Importers’ Union, Azerbaijan ranked 4th among countries exporting fuel to Georgia on this indicator.
Georgia imported most of all fuel from Russia. For Jan-Jun 2024, Georgia imported 327,200 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel from Russia (52.8% of overall imports).
In total, over Jan-Jun 2024, Georgia imported 620,200 tons of gasoline and diesel fuel (11.9% more versus the 1st half of 2023).
Georgia also imported 84,700 tons of fuel from Bulgaria, 68,300 tons from Romania, 33,200 tons from Belarus, 17,200 tons from Turkmenistan, 13,500 tons from Greece, 6,900 tons from Türkiye.
Today, there are five large companies operating in Georgia, with a total of about 600 gas stations.
Some companies buy fuel from the wholesale market of Georgian petroleum products, while others import it directly.
