August 6, Fineko/abc.az. International insurance service Green Card will be launched in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Compulsory Insurance Bureau.

After Azerbaijan restored its territorial integrity and sovereignty, the CIB sent appeals to the International Council of the Bureau, regarding the lifting of geographical territorial restrictions on our country to ensure a Green Card. As a result of mutual cooperation and efforts in our country, removal of territorial restrictions imposed on provision of this service has been achieved.

The Green Card system was created in 1949 under the Working Group on Road Transport of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe to facilitate international transport and settle losses under this system. Car owners registered in the member countries of the system, if they have Green Card insurance, receive insurance coverage when traveling to other member countries of the system.
