Azerbaijan adopts new state standards in field of transport

The Azerbaijan Institute of Standardization (Azstandart), subordinate to the State Service for Antimonopoly Control & Consumer Market Supervision (under the Ministry of Economy), has adopted new state standards in the field of transport, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Service. 

Based on Turkish standard TS 9826 "Şehiriçi yollar – Bisiklet yolları", standard AZS 951:2024 (TS 9826:2013) – "Inner–city roads - bicycle paths" was adopted, based on standard TS 9827 "Şehiriçi yollar – Yaya korkulukları, yol kenarı için (metal) yer seçimi ve tasarım kuralları" the standard AZS 952:2024 (TS 9826:1992) was adopted – "Inner–city roads - roadside pedestrian railings (metal) – rules for site selection and design", based on standard TS 11782 "Şehiriçi yollar – Bisiklet park tesisleri tasarım kuralları" the standard AZS 953:2024 (TS 11782:2013) – "Intracity roads – rules for designing bicycle parking spaces", based on Turkish standard TS 11782 "Şehiriçi yollar – Otobüs durakları yer seçimi kuralları", the standard AZS 954:2024 (TS 11783:2024) – "Intracity roads -rules for choosing bus stop points" and based on the standard of the Russian Federation GOST R 52605-2006 "Technical means of traffic management. Artificial irregularities. General technical requirements. The rules of application"were adopted by state standards AZS 955:2024 (GOST R 52605-2006) – "Technical means of traffic management. Artificial irregularities. General technical requirements. Rules of application".

The introduction of new state standards, developed taking into account international experience and local requirements, will create conditions for sustainable and effective management of road infrastructure, as well as for the formation of a safe and orderly traffic environment inside the city.
