August 29, Fineko/abc.az. Tomato consumption by the population in Azerbaijan in 2023 amounted to 627,360 tons in 2023, which is 2.9% more than in 2022.

As ABC.AZ reports, this is according to the State Statistics Committee.

ABC.AZ reports citing the State Customs Committee that another 141,081 tons of tomatoes were exported (a decrease of 0.6%), 24,33 tons were used for food production (an increase of 9.8%), and the rest for other purposes.

As a result, at the outset of 2024, Azerbaijan has a stock of tomatoes amounting to 132,449 tons, which is 2.5% more than at the end of 2022.

In 2023, tomato production in Azerbaijan increased by 2.3% to 845,525 tons, while imports increased by 20.8% to 6,418 tons.
