August 29, Fineko/abc.az. The US Department of Defense has ordered a large batch of Switchblade 600 kamikaze drones.

ABC.AZ reports citing the department's website that the contract is worth $990 million. The exact number of UAVs has not been disclosed yet. When the first deliveries of the systems will begin is also unclear.

Switchblade 600 is a loitering munition, an improved version of the Switchblade 300. The drone is capable of carrying a payload of up to 23 kg and a Javelin-type anti-tank warhead. It boasts an operational range of up to 40 km and a flight speed of 185 km/h.
