August 30, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan has witnessed a remarkable surge in the number of people arriving for permanent residence from abroad in 2023. According to the State Statistics Committee, the figure has risen by an impressive 27% compared to the previous year, with 3,638 more individuals seeking to make Azerbaijan their permanent home.

ABC.AZ reports citing the State Statistical Committee, that in 2022, the number of people who arrived for permanent residence in Azerbaijan stood at 2,869.

The majority of permanent residence permits in Azerbaijan have been granted to citizens of neighboring Georgia. In 2022, 980 Georgians received permanent residence permits, while in 2023, this number surged by 28% year-on-year, reaching 1,253 individuals.

The highest number of permanent residence permits issued to Georgian citizens in Azerbaijan was recorded back in 1994, with 1,589 people.
