September 5, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Jul 2024, our country imported 1,792 electric vehicles, powered only by electric motor, for $71.5 million.

This exceeds the figures for Jan-Jul 2023 by 16.6% or $10.1 million in value terms and by 20.1% or 300 cars in quantitative terms, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee.

In total, in the first 7 months of this year, more than 51,100 cars for $943.79 million were imported into the country. Compared with Jan-Jul 2023, these indicators showed an increase of 4.8% in value terms, and a decrease of 9.8% in quantitative terms. The share of electric vehicles in the structure of car imports for Jan-Jul 2024 was 3.5% (0.88 percentage points more than a year earlier).
