Inflation in China in August accelerated up to 0.6% - the highest since February

September 9, Fineko/abc.az. In August, consumer prices (CPI) in China increased by 0.6% year-on-year, the fastest pace since February, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the State Statistical Office of the People's Republic of China.

Analysts on average predicted a 0.7% price increase, according to Trading Economics.

In July, inflation was 0.5%.

The cost of food in China last month increased for the first time since June 2023 - by 2.8% year-on-year. Non-food inflation was 0.2%. Clothing prices rose by 1.4%, medical services by 1.3%, and educational services by 1.7%. The cost of utilities has not changed, while transport costs have decreased by 2.7%.
