September 9, Fineko/abc.az. Ensuring energy efficiency is a key factor through which small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in Azerbaijan will be able to contribute to the development of a "green" economy.

ABC.AZ reports that Economy Minister Mikayil Jabbarov said this at the conference "The Role of SMEs in the Green Economy" in Baku.

According to the minister, energy efficiency can be achieved through the use of energy-saving technologies and the use of renewable energy sources.

"Development of human resources and improvement of personnel are also key points that should be paid attention to. Because innovations can be applied by personnel with modern knowledge and skills," he said.

Jabbarov also stressed the importance of social responsibility:

"Constant consideration of environmental factors in business activities, participation in social projects, and the manifestation of initiatives in this area should become the basic principles of the work of a new age entrepreneur," he added.
