Rate of tourists from India arriving in Azerbaijan has increased 2.4-fold

September 13, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Aug 2024, 1,748 foreigners and stateless persons from 183 countries arrived in Azerbaijan (30% more against Jan-Aug 2023).

Of the arrivals, 28.7% came from the Russian Federation, 16.2% from Türkiye, 9.2% from India, 8.1% from Iran, 4.4% from Saudi Arabia, 4% from Georgia, 3.3% from Kazakhstan, 2.8% from Pakistan, 1.8% from the UAE, 1.7% from Uzbekistan, 1.5% from China, by 1.4% from Kuwait and Ukraine, by 1.2% from Israel, Turkmenistan and Oman, 1% from Belarus, 10.9% are citizens of other countries. Men made up 66.8% of the arrivals, women - 33.2%.

Compared with Jan-Aug 2023, the number of arrivals from India grew 2.4-fold, from South Korea – 2.2-fold, from China – 2-fold, from Spain – 1.8-fold, from Kyrgyzstan – 1.6-fold, from the Philippines – 1.6-fold, from Kazakhstan – 1.6-fold, from Pakistan – 1.5-fold, Jordan – 1.5-fold, Oman – 49.6%, Iran – 42.1%, Italy – 35%, Poland – 33.7%, Saudi Arabia – 31.4%, Turkmenistan – 30.3%, Yemen – 28.1%, Egypt – 26.7%, Kuwait – 23.8%, USA - 21.6%, Uzbekistan – 20.9%, Ukraine – 18.9%, Türkiye – 18.8%, Germany – 18.6%, Russia – 17.7%, France – 12.6%, Georgia – 10.9%, Moldova – 10.9%, Tajikistan – 10.8%, Bahrain – 10.5%, UAE – 10.1%.

Compared with Jan-Aug 2023, the number of arrivals from the Persian Gulf countries increased by 34.5% up to 307,200 people, from the EU member states - by 27.5% up 67,900 people, from the CIS countries by 20.5% up to 663,600 people.

75.6% of foreigners and stateless persons arriving in our country traveled by air, 23.2% by rail and road, and 1.2% by sea.
