September 16, Fineko/abc.az. China became the first country whose citizens purchased 1 million NEW (New Energy Vehicle) segment cars, that is, electric cars and rechargeable hybrids.

ABC.AZ reports that this happened amid the ongoing general decline in the market, and, accordingly, the share of NEV in sales broke another record.

In total, 1.03 million electric cars and hybrids were purchased in China in August (53.5% of all sales).

For the first time, the share of NEV exceeded 50% only a month ago, at the end of July.

The total volume of the automobile market in China reached 1.92 million cars - a decrease of 1.1% year-on-year.

The market continues to decline for the 5th month in a row, although the rate of decline has slightly decreased compared with July.
