Ukraine's national debt continues to grow

September 16, Fineko/abc.az. The recently-approved draft budget of Ukraine for 2025 envisages deficit of 19.4% of country's GDP, ABC.AZ reports with reference to the text of the draft budget.

"The State Budget deficit in 2025 is expected to be at the level of 19.4% of GDP, including the general fund - 18.3% of GDP and the special fund - 1.1% of GDP. The country's government borrowings in 2025 will exceed 1.6 trillion hryvnia (more than $38.6 billion)," the Ukrainian media say.

The Kiev authorities want to finance the general fund of the state budget next year at the expense of debt sources in the amount of 1.5 trillion hryvnia ($36.5 billion), and 480.8 billion hryvnia ($11.6 billion) were pledged for servicing the state debt in 2025.
