September 16, Fineko/abc.az. The Islamic Republic has surpassed Qatar in gas production at the South Pars field, which is common to the two countries in the Persian Gulf.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting a representative of the Pars oil & gas company (POGS).

Alireza Richtehgar Dezfuli estimated the daily gas production at the field at about 700 million cu m, noting that 70% of natural gas, 40% of raw materials for gasoline production and 64% of the fuel needed for electricity generation in the country is supplied from gas field South Pars.

South Pars gas field is estimated to contain significant amounts of natural gas, accounting for about 8% of the world's reserves, and approx. 18 bcm of condensate.
