SOCAR-UNIPER will launch a turbo generator set at the Azerkimya plant

September 18, Fineko/abc.az. SOCAR-UNIPER (a joint venture of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan and Germany’s Uniper), in November 2024, within the framework of COP29, will launch a turbine generator set at the Ethylene-Polyethylene plant of Azerkimya production association.

ABC.AZ reports that Rashad Huseynli, the head of the Azerbaijani representative office of Uniper at the Caspian Energy Forum.

"This is a major SOCAR-Uniper project implemented for Azerkimya in the field of energy efficiency. We can say that the project has already been completed, and within the framework of the COP29 conference, the official launch ceremony of the turbine generator set for the production of electricity and steam at the Ethylene-Polyethylene plant will take place," Huseynli said.

He noted that the purpose of the plant's construction is to increase the efficiency and production capacity of the steam generator complex, which provides the plant with electricity.

Huseynli added that SOCAR and Uniper have been successfully cooperating for many years in the field of natural gas supplies from the Shah Deniz field, as well as in the field of human resources, technological exchange, emission reduction, and energy efficiency.
