September 20, Fineko/abc.az. Kiev is ready to transfer gas from Azerbaijan to the EU as a transitional measure after expiration of the contract for gas transit from the Russian Federation.

ABC.AZ reports, quoting the words of Ukrainian media sources in the government of Ukraine.

The interlocutor of the publication claims that Kiev is moving towards Europe, because it understands that some countries in the region cannot abruptly stop using gas from Russia from 2025. In this case, Baku, which acts as a moderator, could buy Russian gas for itself, and send some of its gas to the EU.

Ukraine is allegedly ready to support this option even if Azerbaijani gas can be mixed with Russian gas. Sources in the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan and SOCAR denied to Reuters the information of the Ukrainian edition.
