Azerbaijan sold electricity abroad at these prices in 8 months of 2024

September 20, Fineko/abc.az. The volume of Azerbaijan's electricity exports abroad for 8 months of 2024 has become known.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Customs Committee that 4.3 billion kWh of electricity was exported in 2023. Export revenue reached $402.5 million. This means that each 1,000 kWh of energy costs $93 or 158 manats.

For the past 8 months of 2024, revenue decreased by $257.5 million (5.5-fold) against Jan-Aug 2023, and electricity production by 1.83 billion kWh (2.8-fold).

Over Jan-Aug 2024, 1.18 billion kWh of electricity were exported from Azerbaijan abroad for $57.5 million. The export of each 1,000 kWh of energy averaged $56 or 94 manats.

From 2020 to 2023, there is an increase in electricity exports both in quantity and in value terms.
