September 20, Fineko/abc.az. The sides exchanged views on investments in Azerbaijan by Chinese companies and the development of cooperation in various fields.

ABC.AZ reports that Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov held a meeting with the delegation of Shen Ying, Vice-Chairperson of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC).

It was noted that the adoption of the "Joint Declaration on the Establishment of Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the People's Republic of China", within the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Summit in Astana, laid the foundation for a new stage in the development of relations between the two countries and opened up new opportunities for cooperation in the trade, investment and private sectors.

The guests were provided with information about the favorable business and investment environment created for investors in Azerbaijan. Successful cooperation is underway with Chinese companies in investment, industrial, energy, agricultural and other fields, and trade turnover is growing. Thanks to the activities of the Trade Representative Office of Azerbaijan in China, a number of Azerbaijani goods have become known in the Chinese market. At the same time, it is important to intensify efforts for more active participation of Azerbaijani companies in exhibitions and forums held in China, and given the interest of Chinese companies in the Azerbaijani economy, to intensify cooperation between the relevant structures of the two countries in this direction.

It was stressed that Chinese companies can work in the industrial zones of Azerbaijan, including in the Free Economic Zone of Alat, as well as in infrastructure, transport and other areas in the territories liberated from occupation.

The meeting noted the prospects for the development of trade and economic relations, the expansion of partnership between the business circles of the two countries, including in the fields of tourism, information and financial technologies, innovation, etc. The sides also exchanged views on investments in Azerbaijan by Chinese private companies, the implementation of joint projects and ACFIC support for these initiatives.
