September 25, Fineko/abc.az. Azerbaijan aims to reduce the share of unusable land from 25% to 15% by 2026.
ABC.AZ reports that Huseyn Huseynov, the department head of the Ministry of Economy, said about this at the International Conference on Carbon Pricing in Baku.
Huseynov stressed that a number of goals have been set until 2026. In particular, average annual growth of GDP should be at the level of 3-4%, including growth in the non-oil/gas sector by 5% per year.
"It is also planned to increase the level of waste recycling to 20% in the capital and to 10% in the regions. The share of renewable energy in electricity production is expected to grow to 24% by 2026 and to 30% by 2030. To achieve these goals, it is necessary to carry out an environmental, economic and social assessment," Huseynov said.
