ABC.AZ reports that according to kommersant.ru, discussion of this matter began after the of several senior managers from the company, including Mira Murati, Director of Technology, Bob McCrew, Director of Research, and Barrett Zof, Vice President of Research.

In recent years, OpenAI has attracted multibillion-dollar investments from Microsoft. According to experts, this means that the company, established in 2015 as a non-profit organization, is gradually acquiring a commercial character.

Back in 2019, OpenAI established a commercial division called OpenAI LP, although the bulk of the company remained non-profit. After the launch of chatgpt in 2022, company's activities are becoming more commercial in nature, the company develops tools for customers and attracts more and more sales and finance staff. The restructuring implies the separation of a non-profit division within OpenAI, and the rest will remain an ordinary commercial company.
