Tesla stops selling Model S electric car in U.S.

October 4, Fineko/abc.az. The cheapest version of Tesla’s electric car Model S can no longer be bought in the U.S.,

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the company.

The standard version of Model 3 costs $39,000. Now the most budget-friendly option in the U.S.has become a more advanced version, which costs $42,500.

However, taking into account subsidies when buying electric vehicles, many consumers will be able to buy it cheaper.

The discontinued Model 3 used a lithium-iron-phosphate battery supplied from China.

In May, the U.S. imposed a 100% import duty on electric vehicles from China and a 25% duty on batteries for them and other components. In addition, electric vehicles containing components manufactured in China are not subject to a $7,500 purchase subsidy.
