October 4, Fineko/abc.az. The Slovak authorities are interested in further receipt of oil and gas through transit through Ukraine, ABC.AZ reports, citing Slovakian PM Robert Fico.

"The European Commission is putting pressure on Slovakia to reorient energy supplies to other areas," Reuters quoted him as saying.

On July 17, Ukraine stopped transit of LUKOIL oil through its territory to Hungary and Slovakia due to Kiev's inclusion in the blacklist. Energy supplies from the Russian Federation to these countries are carried out through the Druzhba pipeline passing through the territory of Ukraine. Budapest and Bratislava demanded the immediate start of consultations with Ukraine through the mediation of the European Commission, stressing that Kiev's actions are a direct violation of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

In early September, Hungarian energy concern MOL agreed to supply Russian oil via the Druzhba pipeline to Hungary and Slovakia in accordance with current EU and Ukrainian sanctions.
