U.S. observed decline on unemployment for September

October 7, Fineko/abc.az. Unemployment in the U.S. in September 2024 fell to 4.1% from 4.2% recorded in August.

ABC.AZ reports that Bloomberg writes about this with reference to data from the Department of Labor of the country.

Analysts surveyed by the agency expected that the indicator would not change and would be 4.2%. Meanwhile, job growth in the U.S. last month was the largest since this March.

Thus, the number of jobs in the non-agricultural sector increased by 254,000 in September. Economists had expected the figure to be 150,000.

The U.S. Department of Labor revised its estimate of growth in the number of people employed in non-agricultural sectors of the economy in August, to 159,000 from 142,000.

According to the agency, the published data dispelled fears about a significant deterioration in the labor market in the U.S. At that, the jobs data may increase the likelihood that the U.S. Federal Reserve (FRS) will cut interest rates by a quarter of a percentage point next month.
