UAE wants to increase investments in renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan

October 8, Fineko/abc.az. The UAE actively cooperates with 48 countries in the field of renewable energy development, including Kazakhstan, ABC.AZ reports, referring to news agency Kazinform.

UAE Energy Minister Suhail al-Mazroui said at the KIOGE conference in Almaty that renewable energy sources are becoming an important addition to traditional energy resources.

He added that it is planned to invest more than $20 billion in 40 countries in the development of this area.

In the UAE, 28% of energy comes from "green" sources, including nuclear power plants and 6 GW of renewable energy. These figures will be increased, and by 2030 it is planned to achieve more than 14 GW of solar energy generation.

He also said that the UAE was able to establish cooperation with Kazakhstan not only in the Caspian Sea, but also in the organization of logistics chains between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan to use infrastructure to ensure the continuous supply of energy resources.

Last year, energy company Masdar (UAE) announced the signing of a roadmap for the construction of a wind power plant with capacity of up to 1 GW in Kazakhstan.
