October 9, Fineko/abc.az. Russian company Kaspersky Lab is closing its office in the UK and laying off employees.

ABC.AZ reports that 3 months ago, the company was forced to curtail operations in the U.S. and reduce all local staff.

Kaspersky representative Francesco Tius said that the company "will begin to wind down the operations of the office in the UK, refocusing its business in the country on the partner channel". The company had fewer than 50 employees in its London office.

"This step will allow our company to make better use of existing business opportunities in the UK market, strengthening the overall prosperity of the business. Our customers and partners in the UK will retain full access to the company's European team and its strong and well-established partner network, through which we’ll continue to distribute Kaspersky's industry-leading cybersecurity products and services," Tius added.
