October 14, Fineko/abc.az. The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine has announced plans to receive equipment for distributed generation with total capacity of more than 1 GW (Zelensky’s gigawatt) by the end of 2024, but noted that it would not be possible to put all capacities into operation by the end of the year.

ABC.AZ reports that in June 2024, after Ukraine lost 9 GW of generation, Vladimir Zelensky said that by the end of the year Ukraine would be able to create capacities for generating 1 GW through the construction and deployment of small and medium-sized gas piston power plants received from abroad.

In early September, the former head of Ukrenergo, Vladimir Kudritsky, said that the plan to create a gigawatt Zelensky was completed by only 6%. As of June 2024, since the beginning of its operation, the capacity of electricity generation facilities in Ukraine has fallen from 55 GW below 20 GW.
