October 25, Fineko/abc.az. Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan expressed his country's interest in expanding economic and trade relations with the states of the region, in particular with Iran in the energy sector.

ABC.AZ reports that at a meeting with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, held on Thursday on the sidelines of the BRICS summit in Russia, Pashinyan called Iran an important neighbor and close friend of Armenia.

Yerevan is also interested in developing bilateral and regional economic and trade relations with Iran and other countries in the region in various fields, including energy, he noted.

For his part, Pezeshkian called Armenia a friend and good neighbor of Iran, saying that Tehran pays special attention to expanding ties with neighboring countries and supports any ideas aimed at strengthening regional alliances.

Pezeshkian mentioned BRICS, saying that this bloc seeks to counter totalitarianism and unilateral actions by the U.S.and other Western states that threaten other countries and impose sanctions without any logic, based only on intimidation and excessive demands.
