October 28, Fineko/abc.az. Volkswagen is planning large-scale layoffs, as a result of which at least three plants in Germany will be closed.

ABC.AZ reports that Daniela Cavallo, head of company's production board, informed several hundred employees in Wolfsburg about this.

Tens of thousands of employees may be laid off because of automaker's plans to carry out deeper-than-expected reconstruction.

This indicates serious escalation of the conflict between Volkswagen workers and the management of the concern, which is under serious pressure to reduce costs and maintain competitiveness in light of declining demand from China and Europe.
