Audi production at Brussels plant to be stopped

12:45 - 30.10.2024

October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Production at Audi factory in Brussels may be halted.

ABC.AZ informs that the production stop at the plant is scheduled for next February. The company has already informed the trade unions about this decision.

The main reason for the closure of the plant is a decrease in demand and an increase in costs. Audi management plans to complete the process of informing and consulting on the closure of the plant within two weeks. Concerned about the future of the plant, workers recently held an unusual protest and stole the keys to 200 cars.

The plant, which employs 3,000 people, produces only electric car Q8 e-tron. This model has been particularly successful in the Chinese market. Currently, sales volumes have also declined due to a sharp drop in demand from China. The high level of logistics services also creates additional difficulties for the company. Audi has announced that it is currently in talks with a potential investor about the plant.
