October 30, Fineko/abc.az. Kazakhstan and Mongolia have signed an investment agreement on joint development of a system of Earth remote sensing satellites.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation & Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan that the project envisages development of a satellite for Mongolia.

Jaslan Madiyev, the Minister of Digital Development, Innovation & Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan, said that this is the first export of a satellite in the country's history, fully developed by Kazakhstani engineers.

"The satellite will be adapted to the needs of Mongolia, which will strengthen the regional satellite infrastructure and highlight the growing potential of Kazakhstan in the field of space technologies," he said.

The agreement stipulates independent management of the satellite of each of the countries, which will provide both states with access to up-to-date data for monitoring natural resources and agricultural development.

Remote sensing technologies will make it possible to effectively monitor the state of land, manage water resources and analyze environmental changes.

The project will be implemented on the basis of the National Space Center of Kazakhstan with participation of Mongolian specialists.
