October 31, Fineko/abc.az. Chinese manufacturer of cars powered by new energy sources BYD Co. increased net profit and revenue in the 3rd quarter to record levels.

ABC.AZ reports that in July-September 2024, company's net profit grew by 11.5% year-on-year and reached the highest ever 11.61 billion yuans ($1.63 billion).

Revenue increased by 24%, up to 201.12 billion yuans ($28.24 billion), and also updated the record.

BYD surpassed American Tesla in quarterly revenue for the first time, which earned $25.2 billion over the same period.

In July-September, the company sold about 1.135 million vehicles powered by new energy sources - 37.7% more than a year earlier. Sales volumes exceeded 1 million cars for the first time in the quarter.
