November 7, Fineko/abc.az. Europe is preparing for problems with gas supplies in winter, ABC.AZ reports, referring to the Financial Times.

A number of risks are associated with the fact that the gas transit contract between Ukraine and Russia ends this year. According to the FT, about 5% of the annual volume of gas imports enters the EU through Ukraine. There is also a possibility that European countries will have to send part of the gas to Ukraine.

In addition, winter in Europe is expected to be colder this year than in the previous two years.

At that, gas reserves in storage are crucial for countries' spending. It is this indicator that will determine how much gas will have to be purchased at increased price next year.

It is now expected that by the end of this winter, the storages will be filled by 45-55%.
