November 16, Fineko/abc.az. The average monthly nominal salary of employees in the Azerbaijani economy for Jan-Sept 2024 increased by 8% compared with the 2023 same term up to 993 manats.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the highest average monthly nominal wages is recorded in the mining industry, financial and insurance activities, professional, scientific and technical activities, information and communications, as well as in transport and warehousing.

As of October 1, the number of employees in the country's economy amounted to 1.768 million people, including 880,300 people in the public sector of the economy, and 888,000 people in the non-governmental sector.

Of the employees, 18.8% are employed in trade; vehicle repair, 18.2% - in education, 12.8% - in industry, 8.5% - in health and social services, 6.9% - in construction, 6.4% - in public administration and defense; social security, 4.3% - in transport and warehousing, 3.8% - in professional, scientific and technical activities, 3.3% - in agriculture, forestry and fishing, 2.2% - in financial and insurance activities, 14.8% in other sectors of the economy.
