November 26, Fineko/abc.az. Since the beginning of 2024, unjustified expenses in the pension system in the total amount of 955 million manats excluding indexation (1.263 billion manats including indexation) have been prevented in Azerbaijan.

ABC.AZ reports that Labor & Social Protection Minister Sahil Babayev said about this at the Milli Majlis plenary session, when discussing the draft budgets of state social funds for 2025.

The minister noted that due to systematic work, the number of lawsuits within the State Social Protection Fund has decreased by 94%, and financial claims by 93%. In the period from 2019 to 2024, more than 830,000 pension appointments were carried out proactively, and the share of automated age pension appointments this year was 89%.

He also stressed that the introduction of a centralized accounting system and financial accounting work made it possible to ensure transparency of payments and eliminate direct contact between citizens and officials. As a result of this work, it was possible to centralize the archives and identify funds in the amount of 1.4 billion manats with unknown beneficiaries, which are now credited to the accounts of specific individuals.
