November 27, Fineko/abc.az. Over the past 5 years, the average disability pension in Azerbaijan has increased 2.3-fold, and social benefits 3.5-fold.

ABC.AZ reports that Labor & Social Protection Minister Sahil Babayev said about this at the Milli Majlis plenary session.

The minister said that 541,000 people in Azerbaijan are receiving social benefits for disability.

"256,000 of them are receiving a pension, 198,000 - benefits, 87,000 - scholarships. In 2018, the total amount of disability payments reached 1.2 billion manats. Now it is approaching 2.5 billion. Thus, we have increased payments to people with disabilities by almost 1.3 billion manats," Babayev said.
