December 2, Fineko/abc.az. Unemployment insurance payments are not available to all citizens. There is a number of clearly defined rules and conditions. Payments are provided only to those persons whose employment contracts have been terminated in accordance with the provisions of the Law on Unemployment Insurance.

ABC.AZ informs that the head of the Unemployment Insurance Department, Eldar Aliyev, said that this measure is aimed at compensating for lost earnings and is provided only in case of job loss for reasons beyond the citizen's control.

"It is important to understand that speech is about unemployment benefits as a form of social security. The amount of the payment depends on the applicant's insurance record and the grounds for termination of the employment contract. Citizens can be assigned either 50% of their average monthly salary, or a minimum insurance payment," Aliyev explained.

The minimum amount of insurance payment corresponds to the minimum wage established in the country. The maximum amount of payment is equal to the average monthly salary in the country for the previous year and currently amounts to 933 manats.
