December 4, Fineko/abc.az. Over Jan-Oct 2024, 80% of transfers (on amount) from current accounts of customers and about 90% of such transactions in Azerbaijan were carried out via Internet and mobile banking.

ABC.AZ reports that Rashad Gasimov, the head of the Department of Policy & Development of Payment Services & Payment Systems of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, said about this at the VIII International Banking Forum in Baku.

"For this reason, the Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) rules have limit of no more than 3 failed authentication attempts. However, there are exceptions, because at some point development and policy overlap, and defining strict requirements may limit the use of these solutions in the future. Therefore, SCA has defined special exceptions for less risky transactions. If the amount of one transaction is up to 100 manats, and the amount of a daily transaction is up to 500 manats, then banks or organizations of a non-bank payment system can make an exception in SCA," he said.
