December 5, Fineko/abc.az. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that unemployed Ukrainian refugees who arrived in Germany should start looking for work in the near future.
ABC.AZ informs that according to the Chancellor, "too many [Ukrainians] have been here for quite a long time, and they should start [job search] now".
The number of Ukrainians who have arrived in Germany since February 2022 is about 1.8 million. Unlike asylum seekers from other countries, Ukrainians in Germany have a special status and receive civil benefits ("burgergeld"). According to the German authorities, about 700,000 Ukrainians in Germany receive such payments, and nearly 480,000 ones of them are of working age.
