Fall of income of diamond exporter countries reported

December 9, Fineko/abc.az. The revenues of the world's leading diamond exporters in 2024 decreased by 25% against 2023.

ABC.AZ informs that the largest drop in sales was recorded in Canada: exports of diamonds from this country halved.

If in 2023 the deliveries totaled $1.1 billion, then in 2024 they fell to $541 million.

Botswana, which accounted for almost a quarter of the global diamond market, also experienced a serious decline. The total volume of exports from this country dropped 1.8-fold to $2.3 billion.

Other suppliers also say about a drop in diamond exports by an average of a quarter. Thus, shipments from South Africa decreased by 29% in 9 months, reaching $1.15 billion, while exports from the U.S. fell by 27%, reaching $9.9 billion.

The European Union reduced sales to foreign markets from $7 billion to $5.2 billion, and Israel from $5.7 billion to $4.4 billion.

Exports in the current year in India amounted to $19.2 billion (18% less versus the 2023 same term).
