December 13, Fineko/abc.az. The net worth of U.S. households hit a record high of $168.8 trillion in the 3rd quarter of this year with the stock market surging.

ABC.AZ reports, referring to the U.S. Federal Reserve System (FRS) in the U.S. Financial Accounts report for July-September. The report notes that in the 3rd quarter of this year, the net worth of households in the country amounted to $168.8 trillion.

During this period, the well-being of families that reached record levels grew by 2.9% compared with the previous quarter and by 11.4% against the same term of 2023.

The net worth of U.S. households was estimated at $161.2 trillion in the 1st quarter of this year and $164 trillion in the 2nd quarter.

In the 3rd quarter of the year, the value of Americans' equity assets increased by $2.8 trillion, and the value of their real estate decreased by $200 billion.

U.S. household debt rose 3% in the 3rd quarter. Consumer loans grew by 2.5%, while mortgage loans (housing loans) by 3.1% during this period.
