December 13, Fineko/abc.az. For Jan-Oct 2024, Azerbaijan imported 10,010 tons of black tea from abroad.

ABC.AZ reports with reference to the State Statistics Committee that the cost of imports reached $50.8 million.

Thus, the volume of imports grew by 6% in quantitative terms and by 8% in value terms versus Jan-Oct 2023.

Imports of 7,830 tons of black tea from Sri Lanka, the main supplier of black tea in the country, were 1% less than last year, but the cost increased by 7% compared with Jan-Oct 2023. If last year a ton of black tea from South Asian countries was imported in Azerbaijan for $5,172, this year the idnicator has grown to $5,618. This is an increase in the price by $445 per ton.

Imports of black tea from India, Kenya and Iran increased sharply versus the previous year. In addition, prices were cheaper than in Sri Lanka compared with the previous year.
