December 20, Fineko/abc.az. The Prosecutor General's Office is being given new powers.

ABC.AZ informs that this is reflected in the proposed amendment to the Tax Code, which was put up for discussion at today's meeting of the Milli Majlis.

Currently, the import and sale of equipment and technical means used for defense and state security purposes, their spare parts, special software and ammunition are exempt from VAT on the basis of a supporting document issued by a body designated by the relevant executive authority (Ministries of Defense, of Defense Industry, of Internal Affairs, of Emergency Situations, of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as other governmental services and governmental agencies, determined by the presidential decree from December 28, 2023). According to the proposed bill, it is also planned to give these powers to the Prosecutor General's Office.

The bill was put to the vote and adopted in the 1st reading.
