January 13, Fineko/abc.az. Armenia has no plans to withdraw from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) yet.

ABC.AZ informs, quoting Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan on January 13 at a press conference.

"We don’t want to replace the EAEU with anything. We want to be independent, and independence means that you don't depend on one country, but on everyone, and everyone depends on you," he explained Yerevan's position.

Papoyan stated that Armenia wants to become a country where economic problems would affect the economies of other countries. This could guarantee that there would be no shocks for Yerevan.

Notably, on January 9, the Armenian government supported the proposal to begin the process of joining the EU. This proposal must now be considered by the Armenian parliament.
