January 16, Fineko/abc.az. NASA responded to RTVI's request about the likelihood of cooperation between Russia and the U.S. in the space industry under the administration of Donald Trump.
ABC.AZ reports that earlier, Mark Whittington, a columnist for the American edition of The Hill, admitted that U.S. president-elect Donald Trump could offer Russia active cooperation in the space industry in the context of agreements to end the military conflict in Ukraine.
In particular, according to the columnist, the U.S. may invite Russia to participate in the Artemis space program, as well as provide it with access to American technologies and equipment suppliers, such as billionaire Elon Musk's SpaceX company.
Whittington argues that Russia might be interested in such a proposal because of its "great ambitions for its space program", which is allegedly "in decline".
In response to RTVI's request to comment on Whittington's suggestion, Roscosmos stated that this issue was not under the jurisdiction of the Russian space agency.
